Meet Mamadou, a 12-year-old boy our team met last year. After having surgery to release burn scars on his right leg, he had become bedridden due to complicated wounds on his foot that wouldn't heal. Despite best efforts, X-rays showed the infection had spread to his bones and he had to have an amputation.
After a successful amputation, we teamed up with several of our generous donors to help get him a new prosthetic leg that has allowed him to walk around, get back in school, and even join in riding bikes with his friends in the neighborhood.
